Some however prefer indulging in activities which excite them such as stock exchange speculation, real estate etc. But the money they do get from winnings in poker rooms and poker tournaments earns them more than enough money to sustain their extravagant lifestyles.

Like any other business, a person living on poker money needs discipline. The well disciplined pros who know how to spend their money, when to take a break from poker and when to go all for it are the ones who get a chance of enjoying the prestigious cars and live in the very big houses. Spending $100,000 for these players is no issue as they do make up to $200,000 a month simply playing casual poker in their online accounts.

Sum this up with the several tournaments they win a year and you realize just how much money the poker pros make. Those who are in the game as a gamble however end up losing more than they gain. Initial wins don’t necessarily mean that one is good at poker. The clever poker players observe their winning chances over relatively long periods before determining whether they actually are good at the game. Players who end up making millions from a tournament and believe that they are the best end up suffering in the future when they do realize that they had won out of lack and having spent several hundreds or millions of dollars. No doubt however that the poker pros live on the fast lane. Lavish houses, beautiful women and all-nights out in casinos and parties is the norm of the day. These people live large and acceptably so for the skill and entertainment that they do offer people all around the world through participating in tournaments and poker rooms.

Poker has undoubtedly created several millionaires around the world, what with the billions and billions of dollars that revolve around the game annually. Howard Lederer is a common name in poker. He’s one of the players who made a break while playing at the Mayfair Club in New York. Erick Lindgren had his first winning in 2002 at the Bellagio and then 10 months later, followed it with a win at the WPT. An impressive six months later, he was the winner of a million dollar top prize at the Poker Million III.

Doing it for the girls, Jennifer Harman is well known for winning the World Series of Poker bracelet in 2000 and following it with another in 2002 during the $5,000 Limit Hold ‘em function. David Williams is known for creating a stir and being a winner in the World Series of Poker tournament in 2004. Doyle Brunson along with Johnny Chan are the only two poker players who have made a record of winning the World Series of Poker Tournament twice. That was an impressive accomplishment which further proves that poker is not only a game of luck but one of skill too.

Erik Seidel began as a backgammon player in New York where he was born and raised. For eight years he was in the backgammon tournament before later concentrating on the stock market. Poker seemed to get the better of him and he presently resides in Las Vegas playing poker. Amarillo “Slim” Preston is renown the world over. He is commonly tagged “the greatest gambler who ever lived.” He is on top of his game and understands poker to the core. Chris Ferguson on the other is a famous poker player with a scary attachment to playing cards. He is known of having travelled to and from Las Vegas in the earlier days and never coming back without having made some good money. Andy Bloch and Erin Ness are other famous poker players.
